David Price: Boxer may return Dec 22Written by Leroy Cleveland
According Sky Boxing, British heavyweight contender David Price (22-6, 18 KO) may participate in the Dillian Whyte vs Derek Chisora 2 undercard, December 22.. If so, the likely opponent is rumored to be Tom Little (10-6, 3 KO)
When we last saw Price, he was forced to retire on his stool in September against Sergey Kuzmin.
Now 35, David has lost 3 of his last 4 fights but refuses to quit.
Last April, in what some were calling the proverbial 'Do or Die' situation, Price was brutally knocked out by Alexander Povetkin on the undercard of the heavyweight title unification bout between Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker in London. And while he fought well and had Povetkin hurt on at least one occasion, the result was still an emphatic KO loss.
An Olympic Bronze Medal Champion, David was once one of the hottest prospects in boxing. After his Olympic achievement, he won his first 15 fights (13 by KO) and was considered by some as the heir to the Klitschko dynasty.
Never heard of Tom Little?
The 31 year old Brit is 10-6 and has lost by KO to Daniel Dubois and Filip Hrgovic in his two most recent outings.
Should Price win, don't be surprised if folks look to compare his victory over Little to the afforementioned young prospects'.
