Manny Pacquiao vs Bradley 3 odds: Really odd?Written by Leroy Cleveland
Fight legend Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38KOs) is preparing for his April 9 superfight with fellow top 10 pound-for-pound boxer Tim Bradley.
Pacquiao vs Bradley 3 will be the third bout between the pair and the odds are similar to the betting line for their most recent bout two years ago.
In that fight, Bovada had Manny the favorite at -230.
As of March 15, the odds are as follows per TopBet:
Manny Pacquiao: -260
Tim Bradley: +200
Bookies and bettors acknowledge Pacquiao (unofficially) won the first two bouts and assume the third won't be much different. Manny is presumably the faster, stronger and more skilled of the two.
However, are people overlooking the intangibles?
Pacquiao vs Bradley 3
Date: Saturday, April 9, 2016
Location: Las Vegas
Broadcast: HBO PPV
Not only will Pacquiao be fighting a top 10 pound for pound opponent, he'll be fighting for the first time in 11 months and with an untested surgically-repaired shoulder. Moreover, he is embroiled in a difficult senate race, all while reeling from the backlash of a hostile media and lost sponsors due to his comments about gays.
Tim, on the other hand, will be as good or better than he was when he fought Manny previously. He's coming off a knockout win over the previously red hot Brandon Rios and desperately wants the respect, adoration and revenue spoils Pacquiao has enjoyed for years.
Bradley is a heck of a fighter who is hungry, and seemingly has more to gain by winning.
Given the aforementioned uncertainities about about Manny and the fact he's insisting it'll be his final bout, does the 37 year old boxing great still have the technical prowess, physicality and fire in his belly to, once again, defeat one of the best fighters in the world?
The odds should be closer as it will serve as one of Pacquaio's most formidable assignments.
