Gennady Golovkin vs David Lemieux: KO artists to meet later this year?Written by Joshua Broom
According to ESPN's Dan Rafael, negotiations are taking place for a possible middleweight championship unification bout between ultra heavy- handed WBA "Super and WBC " Interim" 160 lb champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0 30 KO) and Canadian slugger David Lemieux (34-2 31KO), the IBF Middleweight titlist.
Apparently, a deal may be close to being finalized for a pay-per-view affair.

A native of Montreal, Quebec Canada, Lemieux has manufactured an impressive nine-fight win streak, defeating the likes of upper echelon middleweight competitors such as former world title challenger Gabe Rosado and, most recently, former Interim WBO and WBA titlist Hassan N'Dam who had been riding a winning streak himself.
Last month, N'Dam simply had no answer for the power that Lemieux possesses and was floored four times en route to dropping a unanimous decision to David.
Golovkin, however, has knocked out 20 straight opponents, most recently dispatching 2014 Boxcino winner Willie Monroe Jr.
If this matchup materializes it would represent an extremely exciting unification bout between two championship bombers in their respective primes.
Combined, the fighters are 67-2 with 61 knockouts.
Golovkin vs Lemieux, should it happen, will be 'must see TV' as the middleweight division has not seen a bout this consequential for some time.
