Golovkin vs Murray: Note the timeWritten by Leroy Cleveland
On Saturday, undefeated, explosive, heavy-handed Gennady Golovkin faces awkward, rugged Martin Murray of the United Kingdom in a boxing match scheduled for twelve rounds.
Golovkin vs Murray will take place in Monte Carlo, Monaco and the former's WBA and WBO middleweight titles will be on the line.
Channel 5 (U.K.)
5:45 PM ET (U.S.)
10:15 pm ET (HBO)
The fight will be aired on HBO with an unusual start time of 5:45pm ET in the United States, four hours earlier than what most of us are accustomed to.
Early on, there was some confusion about HBO's decision to broadcast this bout as Golovkin's most recent bouts in Monaco against Osumanu Adama (Feb 2014) and Nobuhiro Ishida (March 2013) were not carried on a major American network.
Perhaps fans in the U.K. will watch the fight just prior to bed while those of us in the States must reserve some time on our calendars Saturday afternoon to watch world championship boxing.
