Earl Hayes and Stephanie Moseley incident: Floyd Mayweather attempted to save friend's life

Written by
On December 11, 2014, it was reported that the pound for pound king of boxing, Floyd Mayweather Jr., met with the LAPD on Wednesday to talk about the tragic events that occurred Monday morning at the Palazzo East Communities in Los Angeles, involving late friend and rapper Earl Hayes (34) and wife Stephanie Moseley (30).

According to a press release issued by the Los Angeles Police Department, investigators determined that Hayes killed his wife Stephanie in their home then took his own life.

During the alleged two-hour meeting between the proper authorities and Money Mayweather, the 37 year old prizefighter stated that he was on FaceTime chat with Hayes when the fallen rapper suddenly walked away from the phone, went into the bathroom and fired several shots into his wife.

According the Mayweather, Hayes came back to the phone and continued talking with him. The prizefighter claims that Hayes then stated he was going to shoot himself. Per the affidavit, Floyd attempted to plead with the 34 year old rapper with no positive results.

The five division world champion denied exacerbating the situation, but did admit to discussing his wife's infidelity with Hayes before the shooting occurred. When asked by the Police why Hayes contacted him at 7AM on Monday morning, Floyd stated that his best friend was merely attempting to say goodbye.

Although the topic of a potential Mayweather/Pacquiao showdown has flooded the internet since the eight division world champion defeated Chris Algieri on November 22, it will be interesting to see if the tragic events of December 8 will stall rumored negotiations between Team Mayweather, Showtime Sports, and Team Pacquiao.

The proposed 2015 super fight is projected to be the most lucrative sporting event in history.
