Floyd Mayweather on Showtime tonight: Will 'Money May' provide insight into Manny Pacquiao fight?Written by Joseph Herron
Because Mayweather Promotions is the organization staging the WBA Junior Middleweight Championship bout between Erislandy Lara and Ishe Smith, the pound for pound king is in the Lone Star State, ostensibly pulling for his long time friend and title challenger.
Will Mayweather finally decide to speak out on a proposed 2015 super fight with Manny Pacquiao during the exclusive interview?
While promoting the Top Rank event at the Cosmopolitan in Vegas, Bob Arum lashed out at the media in attendance because of the constant questioning concerning the highly anticipated mega fight.
“I really don’t know,” stated the Hall of Fame promoter when asked about a 2015 meeting between Pacquiao and Mayweather. “It’s hard for me to be pessimistic because there’s such optimism on our side.”
“But as the silence becomes deafening from the Mayweather side, I become less and less optimistic. I really don’t know what it’ll take to get Mayweather in the ring with Pacquiao.”
Although there has been a consistent willingness from several parties over the last few months, including CBS/Showtime, to finally put together a reported $200 million purse to fund a Pacquiao/Mayweather super fight, no one has heard anything from Floyd Jr.
While Les Moonves, President and CEO of CBS, has assured Team Pacquiao that he can eventually bring Money May back to the negotiating table, no sign of progress has been reported to anyone within the always inquisitive media.
So will Floyd Mayweather Jr. finally break his silence on a potential 2015 meeting with Manny Pacquiao when he speaks to the Showtime crew this evening in San Antonio, Texas?
Fight fans will find out tonight on Showtime Special Edition at 10:15PM ET!!
