According to BoxingScene, fight legend and former undisputed cruiserweight and heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield (44-10-2, 29 KOs) may face heavyweight prospect Krzysztof Zimnoch (14-0-1, 11 KOs) in November.
The fighter dubbed 'Real Deal' will be 51 on October 19th and hasn't fought since May 2011.

Who is Krzysztof Zimnoch?

Evander's presumed opponent, Krzysztof Zimnoch of Poland, is 29 and has been a pro for a little over three years.

Not much is known about the undefeated Zimnoch but he notched a win as an amateur over hot prospect Deontay Wilder. Moreover, earlier this month, he won a competitive eight round unanimous decision over 48 year old former WBC champion Oliver McCall (56-12, 37 KOs).

Ranked No. 77 in the world by BoxRec, Zimnoch's win over McCall was, according to BoxingScene, controversial as the well-respected boxing news site scored it for McCall 77-75.

Despite slowed reflexes, McCall was reasonably effective with the jab and found the young Pol with his uppercut on more than just a few occasions. But in the end, the hometown fighter got the nod by the scores of 77-76, 77-75 and 79-75. McCall, however, showed he's still a formidable fighter who is capable of giving any young prospect a good scrap.

More on Holyfield...

Although Holyfield hasn't held at least a share of the world heavyweight title since 2000, he's a respectable 6-2-0-1NC with 3 KOs since 2006. Moreover, his only loses were via decision to then WBO heavyweight champion Sultan Ibragimov (then 21-0-1) in 2007, a top 5 heavyweight at the time, and a year later to Nikolay Valuev who was the reigning WBA heavyweight champion at that time.

Holyfield was competitive in losing to Ibragimov and, by nearly all accounts, robbed terribly in his majority decision loss to Valuev. In actuality, he should be 7-1-0-1NC over the last 6 years.

Evander Holyfield family

Many pundits and fans are begging for Holyfield to finally hang 'em up... But perhaps they are making judgments based on his age - and their perceptions of that age - instead of his performances in the ring?

Keep in mind, the Valuev loss in 2008 was arguably one of the greatest heists in heavyweight championship history.

The Klitschkos
Lineal heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitchko and his brother, WBC belt-holder Vitali, insist they wont give Holyfield a title shot because they like him. Its presumed the Klitschko brothers believe they'd hurt the legend at this stage of his career.

But its quite arguable Evander Holyfield is better than three of their recent opponents, Francesco Pianeta, Jean Marc Mormeck and Manuel Charr. As a matter of fact, Holyfield would probably be favored over Pianeta and Mormeck head-to-head.

"They (Klitschko brothers) won't fight me. They have the right. If I can't get the championship fight then I'll continue to wait. Somebody is going to beat them at some point and then I'll fight that winner."
