Wilder vs Fury: Making boxing fun again

On December 1st, Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury will battle for the WBC Heavyweight title and it could not be happening soon enough.

Not only is this bound to be an entertaining fight, we will also be in store for some of the most colorful and unpredictable pre fight banter that we have had in quite some time.

More often than not, boxing press conferences take one of two tones. Either the fighters are respectful of each other yet guarantee victory, which is great for the sport. Or the fighters have "bad blood" and the fight is "personal". These moments always tend to seem forced and contrived.

And then we have these two fighters at hand…

Deontay Wilder has an ease and comfort level on camera that is rarely seen amongst fighters. He almost looks at home on stage. Rarely raising his voice, he approaches his interviews with a relaxed yet unshakeable confidence. Never one to start a conflict, Wilder won't back down from one either.

Tyson Fury, on the other hand, is as unpredictable as humanly possible. Dressing as Batman, showing off his "dad bod", challenging fighters to sparring sessions. You never really know what you are going to get from Tyson Fury. He's even shown surprising vocal range with his rendition of Wind Beneath my Wings by Bette Midler. Tyson Fury has the confidence to do and say whatever comes to his mind, which always makes for good television.

Wilder and Fury are two undefeated fighters with loads of confidence and charisma and both feel at home on stage and on camera.

Incidentally, both men are vulnerable in the ring as well. The Wilder bout will only be Fury’s third bout following a 2 ½ year layoff. And Wilder, despite his KOs, has been looking a tiny bit exposed in his most recent fights.

Wilder vs Fury has all of the ingredients for an explosive fight with quite possibly the most entertaining press tour ever.

What costumes will we get from Tyson Fury this time? Will the two get physical before December 1st? Will Tyson Fury show more musical talent?

Like most boxing fans, I will definitely be tuning in December 1st to watch these giants collide. However, I am just as excited about the press conferences and the interviews we are going to see in the coming weeks and months leading up to the fight.

I will write a more in-depth preview of the fight once we get a little closer - But, for now, let's all enjoy the roller coaster ride that use the Wilder vs. Fury press tour.
