Saturday night (February 23rd) The Money Team's Badou Jack "The Ripper" will make his 13th professional appearance on the undercard of the Ishe Smith vs Cornelius Bundrage IBF junior middleweight title fight. Badou Jack (12-0, 9 KOs) is a rising super middleweight who hails from Stockholm, Sweden and is now living and training in Las Vegas, Nevada.

FightSaga.com caught up with the unbeaten 29 year old to discuss his boxing background and what he brings to the table as he continues his quest towards climbing the ranks of the super middleweight division.

Tell us about your life growing up (ethnicity, family, sports background if any aside from boxing, etc.)

Jack: I grew up in Stockholm, Sweden. My mom is Swedish and my dad is from Gambia.

Talk about your amateur boxing career (record, tournaments, accolades).

Jack: I started boxing when I was 17-18 and had 150 amateur fights with 128 wins. Won several big tournaments in Europe and fought all over the world including the world championships and the 2008 Olympic games.

Tell us about your pro career (trainers, managers, promoters, etc.) from your debut up to this point.

Jack: I started with 5 fights in Sweden and Finland then I relocated to the states thanks to former heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs. Then I signed with DiBella Entertainment and Warriors Boxing. But now I'm part of Mayweather Promotions and The Money Team.

What separates your from other prospects?

Jack: I'm 100% dedicated to the game and I eat train and sleep boxing and always trying to learn more. I'm a student of the game.

Badou Jack vs. Alexander Brand 146

How did the Brand fight prepare you for upcoming fights? (Note: Jack defeated 17-0 prospect Alexander Brand in just his 11th professional fight by an 8 round split decision)

Jack: It was a good learning experience and I learned a lot from that fight. For example, (I learned) to not let management situations and bullsh*t outside of the ring affect you. It's not an easy road so you always got to keep your mind right and don't let negative things get to you and always stay focused on your job.

Who inspired you to box? (Family, friends, other fighters?)

Jack: I inspire myself, I just wanna be the best.

Who is your favorite fighter of all- time and why?

Jack: I have a couple of favorite fighters. Of course one of them is my boss, Floyd Mayweather. I love his boxing style and the way he carries himself as a person. He's a true winner and a really smart businessman.

I like Muhammad Ali, Roy Jones Jr. in his prime, Sugar Ray Robinson, James Toney, Pernell Whitaker, Marvin Hagler, Ray Leonard, Mike Tyson and the list goes on and on.

What weight class do you plan on fighting at as your career advances?

Jack: I'm planning to stay at super middleweight (for awhile) but later on go up to light heavyweight.

What is your opinion of the top guys in the division you plan to campaign at and who in particular would you eventually like to fight?

Jack: Andre Ward is, of course, the best guy in my division. He's a very good and smart fighter. But one day I'll be up there with him and all the other top guys.

Any news on who your fighting in Detroit and any thoughts on the training leading up to this fight, etc.

Jack: Not sure who I'm fighting in Detroit. Floyd and Ellerbe should let me know who I'm fighting in the next couple of days. I've been working really hard so I'm more than ready for whoever they put in front of me.

Discuss your style as a fighter.

Jack: I'm a boxer/puncher. I got power in both hands, I can box, I can bang, I can go to the body and my jab is my best weapon.

Feel free to add anything else that you would want to mention to the fans.

Jack: Shout out to my sponsor Future Legend and to my team specially my trainer Eddie Mustafa Muhammad and of course Floyd Mayweather who's doing a great job with my career.

Thanks to all the fans that show me love. Follow me on twitter, instagram and rocklive @badoujack
