Manny Pacquiao vs. Terence Crawford PPV to be announced this week?

In recent months, specific sectors of the boxing community have been rather critical of three division world champion Terence Crawford's fight resume since competing in the packed 147 pound weight division.
His harshest detractors genuinely seem to believe that the 33 year old, pound-for-pound combatant is currently avoiding the best possible opponents.
Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum believes the sentiment is ridiculous, and an announcement later this week should silence Bud's most vocal naysayers.
"There's going to be an official announcement within the week on Bud Crawford's next fight," Arum stated to Barbershop Conversations this past weekend.  "I can't reveal it now, but it will be a major fight."
"It will be an official announcement of a major PPV event...date, venue, everything.  I'm not at liberty to discuss it at this time, but it's a big deal, and not just any old fight."
"It will be announced later this week, and all the details will be disclosed."
Arum has been admittedly working on one major fight over the last several weeks for the current WBO title holder, but was considered by many to be a longshot.
But considering this legendary fighter's relationship with Crawford's promoter, as well as Top Rank's business alliance with the entire ESPN network, it seems that Bob Arum may have been able to land the Manny Pacquiao fight for Bud Crawford!
Although it was recently reported that Mikey Garcia was indeed the front-runner to finally strike a massive deal with the Pacman a few weeks ago, several questions remained unanswered as to who would promote the event, as well as distribute the PPV.
With the selection of Terence Crawford, Manny wouldn't have to worry about any of those details.
Several weeks ago, Bob stated that a deal was already in place for a Pacquiao/Crawford match-up before the pandemic changed everything and altered their big plans.
"Before COVID restrictions, we had everything worked out with Pacquiao to fight Terence Crawford in the Middle East for a huge site fee," Bob stated to FightHype.com.  "But that deal fell apart when governments began ordering travel restrictions and lockdowns."
Will Terence Crawford be competing in somewhat of a Welterweight unification this summer against a 42 year old Manny Pacquiao on ESPN PPV?
Although former title holders, Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter, have indeed been mentioned in previous interviews, Crawford made it very clear that his team was currently working on a massive opportunity opposite the Filipino Senator.
Will Manny Pacquiao vs Terence Crawford for a June 5th PPV on ESPN be announced this weekend?
Stay tuned for the definitive announcement!
