Manny Pacquiao knocks out Floyd Mayweather, insists Freddie Roach

If a fight fan or boxing writer really wants to upset Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach, merely imply that Money May is a more skilled, technical fighter than his eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao.

In a recent interview with Gabe Montoya and David Duenez on Blogtalkradio.com, the Wildcard Gym leader spoke about the overwhelming misconception that Floyd Jr. is the more skilled athlete in the ring.

According to Freddie, the most glaring difference between Manny and Floyd is that one fighter chooses to take risks in the ring, and the other fighter doesn’t.

“Manny’s skills are really good,” insists the heralded boxing coach. “The thing is Manny will go for it. He’ll actually go for the knock-out. And sometimes when you go for it, you put yourself in harm’s way to be hit. Like when he walked into a shot against Marquez.”

“He’s been knocked out three times in his career, but he’s not embarrassed about it. That’s part of boxing. That’s part of the sport. If you don’t think you can get knocked out in this sport, then you picked the wrong sport.”

“And then Mayweather just carefully picks his opponents. I mean, why did they fight a rematch in that last fight? The first one put me to sleep, and the second fight put me to sleep even faster.”

“I think Mayweather has hand picked every single one of his opponents, and he picks the right styles. We know he doesn’t fight southpaws very well, that’s one of the reasons why I think he’s ducking us. He knows a southpaw with power is dangerous.”

Although the soon to be 36 year old Filipino Congressman owns five losses on his resume, the Pacman also has decisive and impressive victories over Oscar De la Hoya, Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton, Antonio Margarito, and most recently Timothy Bradley.

Coach Freddie claims that it’s only a matter of time before fight fans can add Floyd Mayweather Jr. to the already Hall of Fame worthy list of victims.

“Manny showed against Algieri that his legs are great and he was on his toes for twelve straight rounds. I don’t think Mayweather can do that anymore. I think he’s getting old and his legs are gone.”

“I think it’s only a matter of time before we knock him out.”
