Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence: "I'd bet on Spence," says promoterHot
Errol Spence has arrived.
A prospect no more, Errol Spence (20-0, 17 KO), in an awesome display of speed, power and technique, unleashed a whoppin a Chris Algieri last night, dispatching the hard-nosed New Yorker in 5 rounds.

Given the level of opposition, it was the kind of performance people wil remember. Algieri, who upset Ruslan Provodnikov in 2014, had never been stopped, even in bouts with Amir Khan and Manny Pacquiao.
“What he [Errol Spence] showed … I’d put him in the top 10, pound-for-pound, right now,” DiBella said via BoxingScene.com after the stoppage.
“That’s how good I think he is. No one ever did that to Algieri."
"And the combination of speed and power and poise for a young fighter, I mean, he’s left the prospect ranks. Now the winner of Thurman and Porter, Kell Brook, are you gonna put him out of the mix with any of those guys?"
"He might beat all of them. Pacquiao? I’d bet my house right now he’d beat Pacquiao.”
Whether the 26-year-old Spence can beat Pacquiao remains to be seen and we'll probably never know the answer. However, one thing is for sure.... Errol Spence would certainly represent a formidable challenge to both Manny and Floyd Mayweather.
The 2012 Olympian from DeSoto, Texas wants to face IBF weltwerweight champion Kell Brook sometime soon and the latter will have his hands full should that bout come to fruition.
“He walked through Chris,” said DiBella via BoxingScene.com. “No one has ever walked through Chris. Am I surprised by that? I’m surprised by that."
“But I thought this kid was the best prospect in the world. Now I think he’s one of the best fighters in the world. That guy is a freight train. He has incredible poise and ring generalship, and he’s got power. And he’s a young guy. He’s beating these guys like it’s easy.”
Promoters often embellish when talking about their fighters but Errol Spence looked THAT good, last night.
Should he face Brook later this year in the UK, don't be surprised if Spence orchestrates the upset.
