Judging by the alleged activity of Team Pacquiao, it seems that the negotiation ball is currently in the court of the pound for pound king of boxing, Floyd Mayweather Jr.

According to recent news from various periodicals based in the Philippines, eight division world champion has reportedly approved of a guaranteed $60 million offer to face Floyd “Money Mayweather for a proposed May 2015 showdown, as well as a $100 million offer made to TMT.

Because it's been confirmed that CBS/Showtime has a current agreement with Floyd Mayweather Jr, while Time Warner/HBO has an existing contract with Manny Pacquiao, the funding for a proposed Mayweather/Pacquiao event would come by way of a collaborative effort, involving numerous benefactors.

“I agree with the $100 million guarantee to Floyd Mayweather, and have accepted only $60 million for me,” stated Manny Pacquiao to senior reporter Eddie Alinea of AsianFightScene.com while sharing a Philippines Airlines flight from General Santos City to Manila earlier this week.

“I took this challenge because of the demand from boxing fans, which became stronger after I beat Chris Algieri. I’ve accepted every demand up to this point, including his earlier demands on drug-testing. But instead of accepting, here he comes again making statements insulting me using social media.”

Pacquiao is apparently referring to Team Mayweather’s Facebook post on Wednesday, November 26, which displayed the current WBO Welterweight Champion getting stopped by longtime Mexican nemesis Juan Manuel Marquez in December of 2012.

The Filipino Congressman has ostensibly had enough of the pre-fight “gamesmanship” from his verbal American rival and is prepared to move on if Floyd does not accept the $100 million offer.

“I’ve agreed to everything he’s demanded up to this point, and after five years of negotiations, nothing has been done,” stated Manny Pacquiao to AsianFightScene.com."

“If the fight with Floyd Mayweather happens, it’s good for the fans and boxing as a sport. If not, I will continue to fight in the Junior Welterweight division.”

“We’re not even 100% sure Floyd wanted this offer. Knowing him, I’m sure he will be demanding more concessions or threaten to call off the fight again.”

The Pacman also stated during the exclusive interview that he has fought his last bout in the Welterweight division if Floyd Mayweather doesn’t accept the proposed offer of $100 million.

“My most recent bout with Chris Algieri was my last fight in the Welterweight division. Unless Mayweather and Haymon takes the offer and accepts the challenge to fight me, I believe I will never fight at Welterweight ever again.”

Longtime advisor Michael Koncz also chimed in on the negotiations with Team Mayweather and his feelings of indifference, regarding the proposed 2015 super fight.

“Manny can’t ask for more,” stated Michael Koncz. “His legacy is already solidified and I don’t believe any man can surpass Manny’s accomplishments in this generation. So whether Floyd fights Manny or not, I really don’t care.”

“Of course, Manny cares about the fans. He wants to continue giving the fans the happiness they’re experiencing whenever he fights. But it appears that Mayweather doesn’t care about the fans of boxing.”

Aside from the somewhat light-hearted Facebook post published by Team Mayweather on November 26, Floyd and his crew have remained silent about the entire negotiation process, which could be interpreted as a very good sign.

But as it stands currently, Manny Pacquiao has indeed approved of the proposed purse split, as well as every other stipulation relegated by Team Mayweather.

It’s apparently now up to everyone on Mayweather’s side of the negotiation table to move forward with the reported fighter meetings.
