Tonight's co-main event for the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Conor McGregor PPV undercard features Gervonta Davis (18-0, 17 KO), the former IBF junior lightweight title holder.

The 22-year-old Davis, of course, was stripped of his belt last night for failing to make weight for tonight's contest.

His opponent will be the obscure but undefeated Francisco Fonseca (19-0-1, 13 KOs) who will claim the recently-vacated title should he defeat Davis. Should Davis win, the title will remain vacant until the IBF matches its two top fighters to vie for the vacated belt.

Gervonta Davis: Net worth
Davis already has a presumed net worth of $2 Million per several sources but we think it's closer to $1.5 to $2 Million.

Davis vs Fonseca purses
According to CBSSports.com, Gervonta will earn $600,000 and Fonseca will receive $35,000.

Why such a large discrepancy?

Answer: Davis is the draw and was the champion when this bout was negotiated. Also, his promoter, Mayweather Promotions, is the lead promoter for tonight's event.

So who is Gervonta Davis?
Despite being a 132 pound super featherweight, Davis often draws comparisons to a 'left-handed' Mike Tyson for his aggression and explosiveness. However, stylistically, Davis is closer to a cross between Adrien Broner and Floyd Mayweather but his style of fighting is more fan-friendly than the latter's.

Dubbed 'Tank,' seven of Davis’ 18 fights have ended in first-round knockouts. Yes, he fights with bad intentions.

One criticism of Davis is that he relies too much on power shots instead of utilizing his jab. Will that be the case tonight against Fonseca?

Although trained by Calvin Ford, the inspiration for the character Dennis "Cutty" Wise on the hit HBO television series The Wire, Floyd Mayweather has taken young Davis under his wing.

"I had a lot of experience [from the amateur ranks], but I learned how to keep my composure. Floyd told me to stay calm, and I studied Floyd Mayweather [videos] when he was 'Pretty Boy,' said Davis.

Mayweather himself enthusiastically branded his protégé as the future of boxing.
