American fight fans are in luck.

The August 18th fight between former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and Francesco Pianeta will be broadcast free in the U.S. via Showtime streaming.

The network will steream Fury vs Pianeta on its Showtime Boxing Facebook page and Showtime Sports YouTube platforms. The fight will serve as the co-feature in the card headlined by Carl Frampton (25-1, 14 KOs) vs Luke Jackson (16-0, 7 KOs), which will also be streamed.

What time is Fury vs Pianeta?
My best guess is Fury vs Pianeta will have a start time between 4:00PM ET and 4:30PM ET. The Showtime International card will be replayed on linear television on Showtime Extreme at 10 PM.

Showtime deserves credit for making this happen as it's not often American fight fans can see live fights taking place in the UK that aren't mega events.

Fury vs Pianeta prediction

The fight will be Fury's second following his return to boxing after a 2 1/2-year hiatus.

Francesco Pianeta is a good "opponent" for Fury at this time. He boasts an impressive record and has faced the likes of Wladimir Klitschko, Kevin Johnson, Matt Skelton, Johann Duhaupas and Ruslan Chagaev. However, he doesn't have the tools to beat - or even threaten - Fury who matches up quite well with the Italian.

Look for Tyson to stop the Italian between rounds 4 and 8. Pianeta will give Fury some rounds but won't mount a real threat. This fight should be a decent, although not great, barometer for where Fury is at this point in his comeback.
