With all of the banter revolving around the catch-weight issue of Saturday night’s “Cotto/Geale” match-up at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, a former four division world titlist is being somewhat overlooked on the afternoon of June 6.

Perennial contender and fan friendly combatant Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (32-3-1, 18 KOs) will be making his return to the ring at the StubHub Center in Carson, California, against Mexican native Aron Martinez (19-3-1, 4 KOs) on the same day.

The scheduled ten round contest is slated to be televised on Daytime NBC at 3 p.m. Eastern/12 p.m. Pacific.

During a media day to promote the upcoming PBC event, the entertaining boxer/puncher reflected on his bouts with two of boxing’s best Welterweights, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and “One Time” Keith Thurman. “The Ghost” pondered on who punched the hardest of the two superstars.

"Keith Thurman hits really hard,” admitted Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero to FightHub TV during his open media workout. “He’s a really good power puncher. It’s a completely different experience from fighting Mayweather.”

“I couldn’t really feel Floyd’s power because he wasn’t really committing to anything. He just wanted to touch me and move. I felt Thurman’s punches a lot more…he had me down in the ninth round.

Keith can really punch.”

Although Amir Khan seems to be the leading candidate for Mayweather’s September swan song on Showtime Sports, many die-hard fights fans are clamoring to see a Welterweight showdown between “Money May” and “One Time”.

After being in the ring with both men, Robert doesn’t see Keith Thurman as a serious threat to Mayweather’s perfect record.

“I can’t see him beating Mayweather,” claims the Gilroy, California based fighter. “It’s the speed factor. Floyd’s speed is just incredible. Mayweather is beyond fast.”

“If you breakdown both of my fights with Mayweather and Thurman, I was able to get to Thurman. And not only on the inside."

"I was able to touch Keith on the outside at times as well. I was never able to reach Floyd. When Floyd is on his game, his footwork and reflexes make him very hard to touch in the ring.”

“I think Floyd’s speed would ultimately freeze Keith Thurman and shut down his offense.”
