Mayweather vs Khan a mismatch? Manny Pacquiao gives Brit a chance

If there is anyone who should be protesting the potential Floyd Mayweather (45-0, 26 KOs) vs Amir Khan (28-3, 19 KOs) match-up, it's Manny Pacquiao; but even PacMan is among those who believe the presumptive underdog has a shot. “Amir Khan, it depends on how hard he trains,” Pacquiao told BoxingScene.com recently.

“He has a chance because he has speed."

"That’s good for him.”

A previous stablemate of Khan's, Manny Pacquiao has sparred and trained with the Brit, and had the opportunity to watch him grow as a fighter.

When the question of Khan's durability arose, Pacquiao, who was KO'd twice in his first 28 bouts, stated:

“If you look at the problem of the chin, I had that before, early in my career." "

"And I developed [a better chin]."

"He needs to train hard if that fight happens. He has a chance.”

Former world champions David Haye and Ricky Hatton also insist Khan has a shot to defeat Mayweather.

Unlike Canelo Alvarez, Amir Khan, in addition to being extremely fast and explosive, employs a high activity rate and is an effective 'hit and move' fighter.

Given his movement and ability to unleash combinations at angles, Floyd may be forced to become the stalker against a faster opponent should Mayweather vs Khan come to fruition.

And while he has shown to be an effective aggressor in spurts, it would be interesting to see Mayweather, a classic boxer, fight an entire bout in 'brawler' mode.
