Boxing legend and former undisputed heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield (44-10-2-1NC, 29 KOs) will rematch former heavyweight titleholder Ray Mercer (36-7-1, 26 KO) 18 years after their first epic meeting, according to WorldBoxingNews.

The bout will be a four-rounder and will be held in South Africa February 2nd on a fight card to honor anti-apartheid activist and former South African president Nelson Mandela.

On May 20, 1995 in Holyfield's return bout after a 13 month hiatus following his loss to Michael Moorer, Evander sported a shaved head for the very first time and cruised to a ten round points victory over the "Merciless" one.

It was an entertaining affair as a very busy Mercer threw 57 more punches than Holyfield but landed 16 fewer shots, according to PunchStats.

The steel-chinned Mercer was also floored for the first time in his career in Round 8 while Holyfield, as always, showcased a rugged beard of his own.

The scores were 96-93, 97-92 and 95-94.

Hoyfield, still chiseled, will be 50 and Mercer 51 at the time of the bout.

The event's organizers are also attempting to lure David Price and Michael Grant. In addition, George Foreman has been invited as a special guest and Michael Buffer as the host announcer.

At this moment, only Holyfield and Mercer have been confirmed.
