Anthony Joshua vs Wladimir Klitschko prediction: Talking tough

Who do you like in April's heavyweight battle between Anthony Joshua (18-0, 18 KOs) and Wladimir Klitschko (64-4, 53 KO)?

Despite his record of dominance, a 78 percent knockout ratio and the fact he's lost only one fight in 10 years, Klitschko is the clear underdog.

And to that end, several prominent heavyweights, including WBC Champion Deontay Wilder and former belt-holder Shannon Briggs, have already predicted a Joshua win.

And now, Anthony is making bold statements himself.

“I think I will knock Klitschko out,” Joshua recently told British GQ Magazine.

“I’m not superstitious about it, but I have a feeling that it will happen in a slightly unexpected way. It will be something like a counterpunch that will finish it.

“It won't be quick... It will take time because he is so experienced and he isn't easy to hit. But I will find my opportunity and I will take it.”

Have all of the recent accolades swelled Anthony's head? Until last week, the fighters had refrained from talking smack.

It's quite interesting Anthony hinted his knockout of Klitschko might not happen quickly. This past weekend Deontay Wilder, after looking sluggish and out of sync for four founds, ended matters quickly in Round 5 despite the fact his opponent, Gerald Washington, was giving a fine account of himself.

Anthony Joshua vs Wladimir Klitschko
Date: Saturday, April 29, 2017
Location: London
Venue: Wembley Stadium
Broadcast: SKY Sports (UK); Showtime (US)

Division: Heavyweight
Titles: WBA (Vacant), IBF
Champion: Joshua (IBF)
Favorite: Joshua

But Wladimir is extremely pensive and cautious in the ring so he's not easy to knockout.

Tyson Fury managed to wobble him a few times in their Fall 2015 encounter but even then Klitschko appeared more shaken than terribly hurt.

The taller, rangier 6'9" Fury was loathe to take chances against Klitschko but, in all fairness, Tyson doesn't have Joshua's explosiveness.

Wladimir Klitschko hasn't offered a prediction for the fight yet but has been beaming since Joshua vs Klitschko was announced.

Does he see a chink in Anthony's armor?
