On Friday, November 4th, Ring Legend James "Lights Out" Toney dropped a one sided, 12 round decision to the new interim WBA Cruiserweight Champion Denis Lebedev at the Ice Palace in Moscow, Russia; a fight which illustrated the 43 year old defensive master struggling throughout the bout's entirety.
"'There comes a time in the life of every human when he or she must decide to risk "his life, his fortune, and his sacred honor" on an outcome dubious. Those who fail the challenge are merely overgrown children, can never be anything else" – Robert Heinlein, (Stranger in a Strange Land, 1961)
All-time-great boxing champion James "Lights Out" Toney is turning a negative into a positive... As in he's positive he's going to Russia to kick Denis Ledbedev's ass.
Following an aborted flirtation with the UFC, the once great James Toney (73-6-3, 44 KO) will meet Denis Lebedev (22-1, 17) for a fight of little significance at the Khondynka Ice Palace in Moscow, Russia. The fight will take place on November 5th.
