Where and how to watch Mayweather vs McGregor for free (or close)

Written by

Tonight, UFC superstar Conor McGregor faces boxing legend Floyd Mayweather in what might be the biggest fight ever.

So how much will Mayweather vs McGregor cost?

The fight will be broadcast on Showtime pay-per-view (PPV) for a cool $99.99; But if that's too pricey for you, you have a few cheaper options.

Local restaurants, bars
Mayweather vs McGregor is showing at some Hooters if not all of them. Another option is Buffalo Wild Wings.

If the above establishments aren't close by or you wish to go elsewhere, you shouldn't have a problem finding more options. Simply Google "(Your ZIP code) Mayweather vs McGregor" or (your town, state Mayweather vs McGregor).

Examples:
22153 Mayweather vs McGregor
Springfield, VA Mayweather vs McGregor

In most cases, there will probably be a $10-$50 cover charge but you might be able to find somewhere that's showing the fight for free, hoping to earn extra profit from food and beverage purchases. The going rate seems to be $20-$50 but if you find a place for $10 or less, rest-assured you'll have to order something. But you were going to eat dinner tonight anyway, right?

If you're really looking to cut costs but want to watch the fight in a restaurant or bar, the best-case scenario would be to find an establishment with no cover charge that will expect customers to spend at least $15 on food and/or drinks. If you typically spend that much for dinner anyway, you'll essentially watch the fight for free.

Other ideas for where to watch Mayweather vs McGregor for much less than $100

  • Have a friend over and split the cost.
  • Call a friend who is going to a house party and ask if you can accompany them. (Maybe they can get you in for free)
  • Chill tonight and catch the replay on Showtime next week.

Important ordering advice
Don't wait until the last minute to order. Rest-assured, cable providers will be jammed with calls all day Saturday, especially in the evening and night. And even if you can order PPV online or via your remote, order early because problems often arise. Hence, if you wait until 8:30pm ET to order the PPV and have technical issues, expect to wait quite some time on the phone for a cable service provider technician.

Fight card start time:
9PM ET/6 PM PT.

When is the main event?
If you only want to see the main event and are watching the fight somewhere other than home, be sure to arrive at your destination no later than 10:30pm ET to be safe. The main event may take place as early as 11:15pm ET
.
