Wilder vs Washington undercard, TV infoWritten by Lee Cleveland
Two aspiring young fighters will compete for the vacant IBF super welterweight title on the televised portion of the Deontay Wilder vs Gerald Washington undercard.
Tony Harrison (24-1, 20 KO), the last pupil of the late, great trainer Emanuel Steward, will face Jarrett Hurd (19-0, 13 KO) on the televised portion of the undercard.
“I was already excited about the fight when they called me about fighting Hurd. I said yes immediately,” Harrison told Premier Boxing Champions.
“I started this off wanting to be the best and to do that, I have to beat the best. When I got the call that it was going to be a title fight, I knew that this was going to be a legacy fight.”
A native of Detroit, the 26 year old highly explosive Harrison boasts wins over Fernando Guerrero, Bronco McKart, and Antwone Smith and Cecil McCalla, and looked dynamic against Willie Nelson until he got caught with a wicked combination in the ninth. Harrison was leading on all three judges’ scorecards prior to getting stopped.
