Klitschko vs Fury 2: Shannon Briggs chimes

Written by

Never at a loss for words, the colorful Shannon Briggs was in prime form earlier this week.

Briggs, a former belt-holder who stalked former lineal heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko for two years to no avail, shared his thoughts on the upcoming rematch between Klitschko and Tyson Fury.

"It's going to be a good fight," Briggs told Brendan Taylor of Tru School Sports.

"I think this time around Klitschko is going to be better prepared."

"I think he's [Klitschko] is hungry. I think Fury, for the most part, has accomplished what he wanted to accomplish."

And while Shannon Briggs didn't offer a prediction, did he give fans a hint into what he thinks is in store?

"We're going to see what Fury brings to the table after winning and after partying, and doing what he's doing."

Does Briggs believe Tyson isn't taking his craft seriously enough?

Who knows? The upbeat former belt holder, however, expressed a fondness of Fury and insists he hopes to step in the ring with him one day.

"I'm a Tyson Fury fan... I'm not gonna lie."

"He's nuts."

"Me and him would be a great fight though."

Perhaps interviewer Brendan Taylor said it best: "The build-up [for Briggs vs Fury] by itself would be enough to sell the fight."
