Pacquiao vs Bradley 3 odds tighteningWritten by Lee Cleveland
Will Manny Pacquiao, in the presumed final fight of his career, stave off a tough and determined Tim Bradley.
Many are, perhaps, underestimating Brads because Pacquiao has (unofficially) defeated him twice already. But Tim is a top 10 pound-for-pound boxer with a new trainer, more polished style and more optimistic outlook.
And while the old Tim Bradley is a clear and present danger for anyone at welterweight, the new Tim Bradley may be even better.
Pacquiao vs Bradley 3 odds
Two years ago, Bovada had Manny the favorite at -230.
And as of March 15, the odds were as follows per TopBet:
Manny Pacquiao: -260
Tim Bradley: +200
On fight day (today) the odds have tightened with Manny as the -200 favorite and Bradley the -160 underdog. Hence, a $200 bet on PacMan would yield $100 while a $100 bet on Tim would profit his supporters $160.
Bookies and bettors acknowledge the first two bouts and assume the third won't be much different. However, Bradley was still a handful for Manny both times, especially in the first four rounds. Moreover, Bradley is coming off a knockout win over the previously red hot Brandon Rios and desperately wants the respect, adoration and revenue spoils Pacquiao has enjoyed for years.
Tim certainly seems to have a lot more to gain.
Although Manny is presumably the faster, stronger and more skilled of the two:
1. Tim has fought twice since Pacquiao's last fight 11 months ago
2. We aren't how much or if Pacquiao's shoulder has rehabilitated
3. How much, if any, was Manny's training impacted by the widespread public backlash over his controversial comments about gays?
4. With a new trainer and amended strategy, how much better is Tim now than before?
5. And does Manny already have 'one foot out of the door' as it relates to boxing?
6. Has Manny, 37, gotten old overnight?
Pacquiao vs Bradley 3
Date: Saturday, April 9, 2016
Location: Las Vegas
Broadcast: HBO PPV
While one can't blame oddsmakers for making Manny the favorite, the betting might be a bit generous.
Given the aforementioned intangibles about about Manny and Tim and the fact the former is insisting it'll be his final bout, does the 37 year old boxing great still have the technical prowess, physicality and fire in his belly to, once again, defeat one of the best fighters in the world?
Pacquiao vs Bradley 3 odds should be closer as it will serve as one of Manny's most formidable assignments in his long, illustrious career.
