A skillful pressure fighter, Golovkin might be an all-time great.
He boasts awesome power in both fists, is incredibly precise and has excellent balance and timing.
With an unbroken streak of stoppages dating back to 2008, he holds the highest knockout percentage – 91.8% – in middleweight championship history. He is also said to have one of the best chins in modern boxing, having never been knocked down or knocked out in a total of 386 fights, neither as a professional nor amateur.
On HBO Boxing tonight, fast-rising WBA and IBO middleweight title holder Gennady Golovkin 26-0 with 23 KO's will defend both titles against his toughest opponent to date, top-flight contender Matthew Macklin 29-4 with 20 KO's.
Unfamiliar to many casual fight fans and the public mainstream, Sergio Martinez (49-2-2, 28 KO) may be boxing's best kept secret.
