Sports bars. A friend's house. An airport lounge or live and in person. We clamor to watch sporting events, be it boxing, football, basketball, etc.
Beef. It might be what's for dinner, but it can also be the face that launches a thousand ships. Maybe even a million or more. Think of this in terms of paying customers who felt robbed.
There are times when fights shown on television don't allow the viewer to accurately determine the size of the fighters in ring. Camera angles, pan-outs, HDTV & even 3DTV can make the pugilists look larger than life.
Many years ago, the late great Bob Marley sang those magical lyrics as if he needed no further understanding of his message. He was too good for us and left before his time should have been called. We can only see and hear him in music and in video, or the nostalgic black-light tapestry.
Perhaps the biggest draw in the sports world has decided to pursue yet another challenge, but it's not in the form of an unprecedented ninth weight class. If he's brave enough to take on Sergio Martinez one day, he'll become an even larger than life figure, especially if he triumphs.
